CHWs will work within and across multiple settings to staff direct pandemic response, facilitate more effective, integrated health services, and address social needs among priority populations. A broad statewide partnership, with the leadership of CHWs themselves, will train, deploy and engage CHWs within four catchment areas – the area served by Mount Rogers Health District the Richmond area (Richmond, Henrico, Petersburg, Chesterfield & Hopewell) Danville/Pittsylvania County and Norfolk/Portsmouth.
If funded, the initiative will involve diverse local, regional and state partners working together synergistically to create integrated clinical/community networks of CHWs and other partners at the local level designed to effectively respond to COVID-19 while also building long-term community resiliency.
